Turns Out Jeremy Clarkson Isn’t As Good At Drifting As Ken Block

In last week’s episode of The Grand Tour, Jeremy Clarkson set out to prove that doing what Ken Block does during his Gymkhana videos is mostly video editing, rather than pure skill.

Of course, he was painfully wrong, as proven by the segment he titled Farmkhana: Ultimate_Country_Playground, which consists of a Subaru STI getting thrashed around a farm.

The problem is, Clarkson relied mostly on editing to make his drive look epic, which did work to some extent, but all you have to do is pay close attention to a few of the details in order to see everything that’s wrong with the picture.

Not only was the show’s host stationary in some of the shots (revving the car while standing still, pressing the pedals chaotically and so on), but he also failed to drift properly through certain obstacles, which is something Ken Block certainly doesn’t need any help with.

After the segment itself, you can watch a short “Behind-The-Scenes” video, which will show you exactly what we mean. That STI has probably never felt more helpless.

  • Of course… it was made for the show, last week episode is another boo from me unfortunately.

    • gbmike25

Yeah me too, very disappointed… 3 out of 5 have not been great, what’s going wrong? Think they are finally beginning to lose the plot…real shame.

      • To reach out international audience, it’s no surprise that when they were shown early Top Gear they dislike it for being too serious and mostly set in UK. And with Amazon backing they are pretty much able to do whatever they want in any parts of the world.

        • gbmike25

I get that, been watching Top Gear since Noel Edmunds was the presenter….

Have to say I did like the young Vicky BH before her team all emigrated to Fifth Gear…

Season 2 so far has been awesome. I still hate celebrity face off but other than that everything has been awesome.

  • Bash

Of course! Ken Block wouldn’t be -umm himself- if he is not already the best… does that make sense?

  • Maricaibo

    Clarkson.

    ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…………………………….

  • EyalN

on topgear after every episode they got sued for something they said. now they are part of Amazon and clarkson got a gay flag on his car

    • They have doing that for quite some time in Top Gear, I remember when they do 24h britcar and James May use rainbow flag on it.

  • Mind Synthetic

to be fair block is nothing special, every pro driver can pull off what he does. He broke out with his videos at the right time and good for him, just nothing special.

    • rodriguez256

      Well you’re fun and special.

      • Mind Synthetic

        you should see me drunk

  • LeStori

It did prove that all you need to do with video is some “nice” editing and you too can be stunt driver. Think that was Clarkson’s point. If I remember correctly, his comments from the show.

  • Six_Tymes

I highly doubt he thought he was.

  • robotlogic

Well no wonder, his steering wheel is on the wrong side.

  • Bikram Suwal

  • LuckySod

    No he can’t but….
…He’s made his money. Now all he does is clown around and get paid (a lot more than most people) for it….!

Must be a good life, lucky sod!
