2019 Kia Cee’d Hatch Coming To Geneva With New Name – ‘Ceed’

After an extensive development program, Kia is finally ready to unveil the third generation Cee’d.

Teased in an official sketch meant to announce its presence at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show on March 6, the compact hatchback has dropped the apostrophe from its name, thus becoming the Ceed.

Designed at the brand’s center in Frankfurt, Germany, and engineered for Europe, the 2019 Kia Ceed features Stinger-like styling, which is described as “more self-confident” by the automaker.

Besides the five-door hatchback, Kia will also unveil “a second member of the Ceed family” in Geneva. The mysterious model is likely the Sportwagon variant, which will pack the same styling and technologies in a more practical estate body style.

Both versions of the car are expected to use some of the engine options found in the Hyundai i30, such as the 120PS (118hp) 1.0-liter and 140PS (138hp) 1.4-liter petrol units, and 110PS (108hp) 1.6-liter diesel.

A previous report states that a mild-hybrid version of the car is also on its way, which will help it meet demanding emission standards.

Following its Geneva Motor Show premiere, Kia will open the order books for the new generation Ceed across Europe in Q2 of 2018.
