BMW X5 Driver Takes Out Box Truck While Driving Like A Maniac

Whoever was behind the wheel of this black X5 sure did their best to reinforce certain stereotypes concerning BMW drivers.

It’s bad enough that some people tend to act foolishly when they’re in traffic, but to think that you can squeeze your SUV between two trucks at speed on a slippery road? That’s just nuts!

Unless there was a medical emergency and the driver of the X5 (probably an X5 M or M50d) was on his or her way to the hospital to scrub in and perform surgery, we can’t imagine many other scenarios where this type of careless behavior would be justified.

Even if you’re in a rush, you can just wait for the vehicle ahead to move, perhaps even honk or flash your lights if it is indeed an emergency. In this case though, the road conditions were very treacherous, and regaining control of a 2+ tonne SUV once you’ve lost it is pretty difficult even for skilled drivers.

As it often happens, one mistake was compounded into another and, as a result, the X5 clipped the box truck it was overtaking, sending it off the road where it ended up on its side.

We have no info whatsoever, but we sincerely hope that no one was seriously hurt in that accident.

    This infuriates me.

  • LWOAP

Nothing to see here, it’s just your average BMW driver.

    • pcurve

But 1 series driver was cool.

      • TheHake

Why? Because he stopped? You are supposed to stop.

    • Jay

Or just your average Need for speed take down.

      • LWOAP

I was thinking Burnout more but that too.

  • Eugene Naw

In Russia BMW is a diagnosis!

  • LeStori

I suppose the only positive is the BMW stopped when they finally got control of their vehicle. ..

  • Marty

    Stupid and dangerous move.
But what’s the vehicle with the camera doing in the left lane anyway? It’s not like it has the speed to overtake.

    • TheHake

He was actually busy with an overtake.

      • Marty

It didn’t look like a steady, necessary overtake in that case. 🙂

(But maybe the vehicle was already slowing down, hard to see)

  • Bash

    What D-Bag!!

  • JR Glide

    VW = FRAUD

Wow. You have such hatred for VW you’ve now resorted to spamming articles that don’t even involve VW. You’re sad.

    • Matthew Daraei

      STFU!

  • Knotmyrealname

The X5 was out of control before it came into view. Perhaps driving around the slow truck in the left lane?

  • Wandering_Spirit

I never believed the myth about BMW drivers…i provided some theories about the Mustang ones. But after over 2 decades living in various countries abroad i have to say that many BMW drivers worldwide fit the pattern. I don’t know why. But way too many seem to think that owning one of those cars gives them some special sort of superpower. Not all…just too many.
