The Chevrolet Corvette is an incredible sports car that can decimate supercars around a track when properly spec’d. Despite all of the aerodynamic bits and performance components, though, it’s not a race car. Chevy, though, has something that will fix that.

On Chevrolet’s configuration site for the Corvette, there’s something interesting: an indoor cover that makes the sports car look like the C7.R race car.

The “Premium Indoor Vehicle Cover” costs $1,205, which is a little pricey, but will fool lots of people, at least from a little distance, because of the immaculate attention to detail.

The cover features a fully-rendered image of the automaker’s C7.3 Corvette GT racer. Even the tiniest details are included in the cover, including the race car’s side exhaust pipes and hood pins.

The only thing that’s missing from the cover is something for Corvettes that are equipped with a large wing, like the 755-HP ZR-1. It’ll be interesting to see if Chevrolet offers the special indoor cover on that model. Since Chevy hasn’t come out with a configurator for the ZR1 yet, there’s no way of knowing.

When the C7.R cover isn’t being used, it comes with a duffle-style storage bag to keep it neat and tidy. This may seem like a gimmick, but it’s a neat accessory and we’d love to see more automakers offering something similar.
