SEAT drivers will soon be able to identify their favorite songs straight from the infotainment system of their rides thanks to the Shazam application

Available from April this year on vehicles equipped with the SEAT DriveApp for Android Auto, the addition of the feature was announced during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona by the brand’s chief, Luca de Meo.

“For all music lovers, being able to identify songs is going to be at their fingertips. Integrating Shazam will enable us to continue making progress in our goal of delivering maximum safety for our customers and achieving zero road accidents”, said de Meo.

The VW Group-owned brand has also created a new company, called XMOBA. Its goal will be “identifying, testing, marketing, and investing in projects that contribute to promoting solutions that improve future mobility”, according to the official press release.

XMOBA, which joins the recently launched CUPRA performance brand, will work independently from SEAT, offer solutions to current and future mobility challenges and implement pilot projects.

Its activity debuts with two initiatives: the ‘justmoove’ project, a platform that integrates different services to reserve and pay for parking, tolls, and refueling, among others, and assuming ownership of the Respiro ride sharing company.

SEAT’s presence at the exhibition in Barcelona underlines their involvement in 5G technology as well. The automaker will participate in the project by creating a prototype that will be tested next year in the city.

Finally, the Leon Cristobol Concept, described as “the safest vehicle in the history” of SEAT, is on display at the Mobile World Congress, too, along with the Connected Experience 2.0. The latter is a simulator with a 360-degree view of the future digitization currently in development by SEAT.

Gadget enthusiasts can visit the event until March 1 to check out the latest technologies and innovations.
