The all-new BMW M5 has finally touched down in the UK, with the carmaker announcing the official pricing details.

BMW’s new super sedan is priced from £89,645 OTR, a smidge over what Mercedes-AMG is asking for its arch-nemesis, the E63 S, which is priced from £88,295.

The new BMW M5 is powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 producing 592hp (600PS) and 553lb-ft (750 Nm) of peak torque. Strapped to it is an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and a new all-wheel drive system.

The new all-wheel drive system also features a rear-drive mode, allowing the new BMW M5 to behave like a proper M car whenever the driver wants it to. 0-62mph comes in 3.4 seconds, with 124mph (200km/h) arriving in 11.1 seconds. Tick the optional M Driver’s Package and the top speed rises from 155mph (250km/h) to 190mph (305km/h).

For the first time in a BMW M5, the roof is made out of CFRP, with the bonnet and front wings being aluminum. The steering wheel features a pair of red lacquered buttons M1 and M2 that can store the driver’s preferred chassis settings.

The new M5 is available in numerous colors, some of which are exclusively reserved for the model. A brand new shade is Marina Bay blue metallic, while on request are matte colours such as Frozen Dark Silver or Frozen Arctic Grey.

UK owners will be also invited to participate in BMW M’s Intensive Training course, which takes place at several different race circuits in the UK and Germany.
