After a couple of images surfaced online today, our photographers captured the new Ceed Sporstwagon on display at the Geneva Motor Show floors.

The station wagon looks identical to the hatchback up to the B-pillar, and after that it gets a longer roofline and an extended rear end for that additional boot space and increased practicality.

Looking at the car’s rear, we couldn’t but notice the similarities of the Sportswagon’s tailights with BMW’s 6-Series Gran Coupe – are we the only ones to think so?

Obviously, the Ceed Sporstwagon gets the same interior as the five-door hatch, with a floating-style infotainment system and plenty of gear available, depending on the selected trim.

Higher spec versions will come with heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, and a host of driver assistance features. Moreover, customers can choose between different driving modes, including Sport.

The engine lineup will likely include all the units already available on the hatchback, such as the 1.0-liter with 120PS (118hp), the 140PS (138hp) 1.4-liter and a less powerful 1.4-liter petrol. The automaker hasn’t cut back on diesels, as the 1.6-liter CRDi is offered with two outputs, 115PS (113hp) and 136PS (134hp) respectively.

Kia has more derivatives of the new Ceed in store, and one of the models expected to arrive is the GT hot hatch, probably joined by the Shooting Brake, while later on a Ceed-based SUV might complete the lineup.
