We’re still 40 days away from the unveiling of the Brabham BT62 but that hasn’t stopped the company from releasing a new teaser video for the upcoming model.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much to see as the video is shot from a pit wall and the car goes screaming past in about a second. As a result, we can only make out a blurry shape which suggests the BT62 will be a low-slung model which appears to feature a rear wing.

The company is staying tight-lipped about the car but they noted the model will be “unquestionably fast but about far more than outright speed.” That’s not much to go on but the BT62 is slated to have a uniquely Brabham design, purpose and character. The car also promises to echo the company’s “illustrious past” while also offering new technology that will “harmonize driver and vehicle performance.”

The BT62 will be unveiled on May 2nd and managing director David Brabham said “Since my father first took to the track in 1948, the Brabham philosophy has always seen drivers extract every ounce of available performance from their cars and themselves. That same spirit lives strong within Brabham Automotive today and, its first project, the Brabham BT62, honors the legacy of the cars that have previously carried the iconic Brabham name.”

Little is known about the BT62 but Brabham has created more than 700 racing cars since its inception in the 1960s and the BT62 will become the first Brabham in 26 years to wear the BT designation.
