This is the new BMW M2 Black Shadow Edition, a new special version of the thrilling rear-drive coupe.

While the world is still expecting the hardcore M2 Competition model to finally come out, BMW has added the exclusive Black Shadow Edition to the model’s range, featuring a host of black-themed design bits.

These include exterior mirrors in carbon finish, high-gloss black bars for the kidney grille and other exterior trim pieces, a rear diffuser in carbon finish and a black-chrome finish for the double tailpipes.

The Black Shadow Edition spec is completed with the Sapphire Black metallic exterior color and a set of 19-inch black matt alloy wheels with a Y-spoke design.

As you might have guessed already, the new BMW M2 Black Shadow Edition leaves the oily bits unchanged, including the turbocharged 370hp 3.0-liter straight-six engine. Opt for the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and the BMW M2 is capable of a 0-62mph in just 4.3 seconds.

BMW has managed to sell more than 12,000 examples of the M2, making it BMW M’s most successful model in 2017. Its compact dimensions in combination with the exceptional chassis tuning from the wizards over at BMW M make the M2 one of the finest performance cars on sale right now.

The new BMW M2 Black Shadow Edition will go on sale in Europe from this April.
