The Fastest Two Minutes In Sports‘ event is being celebrated this year by Ram, with a limited edition of the new generation 1500.

Priced from $53,190 plus $1,645 destination charge and limited to 2,000 units, the 2019 Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition commemorates the 144th edition of the famous horse race.

It’s available in Crew Cab, with two- or four-wheel drive, and a 5-ft and 7-in (1,702mm) bed length. Customers can order it in the new Ivory White Tri Coat paint, with the ‘Run for the Roses’ fender graphics, and it also comes in five other colors called Diamond Black Crystal, Granite Crystal, Delmonico Red, Max Steel and Patriot Blue.

Key features include the auto-leveling air suspension, power-retracting running boards, trailer hitch with sway control, blind spot monitoring with automatic trailer detection and 12-inch Uconnect infotainment system with Sirius XM 360L and navigation.

The 2019 Ram 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition also comes equipped with leather trim, genuine wood and metal accents, and heating and cooling front and rear seats.

The limited edition truck retains the regular model’s maximum trailer tow of up to 12,750lbs (5,783kg) and payload of up to 2,300lbs (1,043kg).

Ram has already started taking orders for the 2019 1500 Kentucky Derby Edition, well ahead of the horse race it’s named after and which starts on Saturday, May 5.

To think that this is not as expensive as trucks can be nowadays.

  • donald seymour

Saw this truck in person and in the flesh it’s absolutely a stunner. Real deal! I’m still more attracted to the Silverado.

Oh good…I still have yet to see one in person yet…

The touch screen is utterly a mess though. I don’t want a TV starring back me when I’m driving.

I can tell, you are NOT a Tesla fan boy then, and this is good. lol

          • donald seymour

I appreciate what Tesla is “trying” to do but I am not a fan by any means. The car is all around sub-par quality and poor quality for the price. Electric vehicles outside of the Nano Flowcell are a bust for right now.

          • Bash

Applause, I could have never said it better.

  • U8INIT

This price is very attractive for a top of the line fully loaded modern truck…I think I still want the chrome bumpers thou…

Handsome, the looks are growing fast on me, despite initially not liking it. But $50k+ for a truck is a no-go for me.

This is a looker indeed, Love it.
