McLaren has announced the debut of a limited-run 570GT at the 2018 Beijing Auto Show, which starts this Wednesday.

The Sports Series model uses “traditional Chinese craftsmanship”, as per the company based in Goodwood, and “hand-crafted panels from a traditional Chinese embroidery master”. In addition to the 570GT limited edition, McLaren will also celebrate the local debut of the Senna.

The track-focused hypercar, which is faster on some circuits than the hybrid P1, uses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, derived from the automaker’s 3.8-liter unit.

The powertrain develops 800PS (789hp / 589kW) and 800Nm (590lb-ft) of torque, allowing the Senna to cover the 0-100km/h (0-62mph) sprint in 2.8sec. The 200km/h (124mph) mark is hit in 6.8sec, the standing quarter mile is completed in 9.9 seconds and top speed is 340km/h (211mph).

“It is a great honor for us to return to China, and Beijing will provide the perfect backdrop to unveil the new McLaren Senna for the first time to the important Chinese market”, said the brand’s Sales and Marketing Director Jolyon Nash.

McLaren’s presence in China will be defined by the 570S Spider, too. The latest addition into the Sports Series range will go on sale in the People’s Republic soon, and will be joined by the impressive 720S.

This supercar has 720PS (710hp / 530kW) and 770Nm (568lb-ft) of torque on tap, and has already proved its credentials against some of the fastest cars in the world on the drag strip.
