2019 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Teased With New Grille

Not long after offering the world a glimpse of the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, the American automaker has done exactly the same with the 2019 Charger SRT Hellcat.

The teaser in question reveals that the updated Charger Hellcat will benefit from a revised front grille with at least one large nostril to feed the powertrain with air. It appears as though the air intake will perform a similar function to the ram air intake found directly in the Challenger’s headlight.

Beyond this, little else is known about the new Charger SRT Hellcat.

Prototypes recently spied out and about have been free of camouflage at the rear end, indicating that Dodge’s designers and engineers have limited modifications to the sedan’s front fascia. Some refinements are expected throughout the interior, however.

Most importantly, the latest Charger Hellcat could actually become a little bit faster than the outgoing model. Sources indicate that like the 2019 Challenger Hellcat, the four-door’s 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 engine will be modified from 707 hp to roughly 725 hp. If true, that would edge the duo slightly closer to the 840 hp Demon and be more than enough to satisfy Dodge customers.

Dodge says that it will release more information about the 2019 Charger SRT Hellcat this summer.

Yawn, looking forward to Dodge’s death spiral being complete at this point.

    • Liam Paul

They ( FCA) should combine the Dodge charger, Challenger and journey with Chrysler as Chrysler products “Chrysler Charger” “Chrysler Challenger ” and “Chrysler Journey ” and update the Journey using the Jeep Cherokee , Jeep dont need it with all those other suvs.

      • LWOAP

Naah, I think it’s better if Chrysler died and the Pacifica was re-branded as a Dodge. Hell, it can replace the Journey in the lineup.

    • Moveon Libtards

      Still better than that “all-new” Toyota/ appliance…Zzzzz…

But interesting you clicked on this article and read it.

    • It’s a miracle Dodge is alive, who the hell said, let’s make RAM as brand and stop using the RAM logo. How Chrysler is still alive is a mystery…

  • Tumbi Mtika

Remember when Dodge wasn’t a one trick pony?

    • Dr Strangefingger

Yeah, I remember the Dodge Diplomat and the Dodge Daytona Turbo.

  • SgtBeavis

They don’t need to tease a new grille. They need to tease a new car.

    • Chris Fame

that’s funny and true. Dodge has gain so much respect to get so damn stale with its products.

  • Dr Strangefingger

…but can this beat the Dodge Demon?

  • Victor Ferreira

“We’re still building a 1996 E-Class with some beefed up bodywork. But here, have a another supercharged V8 with it and call it a day.”

    • haudit

Well, if we’re being brutally honest, they’re still building a car based on the mechanicals of the 1983 Renault 25, modified for RWD with the addition of some Mercedes-Benz drivetrain and suspension components.

  • TrevP

Come on Dodge. Your whole line up is out-dated. You need new cars! Not updated ones. Ya’ll are going down the toilet faster than you think.

    • Moveon Libtards

Still more sales (and profits!) than Tesla. Lol

  • Bash

Again, a piece you can buy and simply fit in your current dodge.

  • timii

I really tried to like dodge over the years but im over the design language(and that old ass platform), dates back to 2004 (even that dates back to a 90’s e class). Lets get something fresh going soon because selling the same car for a decade(+) is terrible.

  • S3XY

    Radical.

  • Craig

As my dad would say…. “This is getting long in the tooth!”

  • Jason Miller

All the negativity in here aside, I personally like the way the Challenger and Charger look. Sure they need new versions but the current cars are still lookers. To each their own.

    • Honda NSX-R

Not just lookers but highly desirable cars in general too

What FCA NEEDS to do with their Chrysler, Jeep, & Dodge brands.
    ______

1 Make Jeep into the off road LandRover competitor brand (which they are in the process of)
    ______

2 Make Dodge into a muscle/supercar, and sports vehicle company. (They sort of already are on this path, but they need to really execute when it comes to this on all fronts. I left another comment here talking about what they should do).
    ______

3 lastly, make Chrysler into the Upscale luxury brand that it should be (they can start by bringing back the much more classy logo that was discontinued in 2011). Chrysler should axe everything in their line up (like they basically did in 2011), start over again, and move upscale, starting with building new and good vehicles, because they have the potential to do so. They also need a new brand look (that I personally believe should be based on their “200C EV” and “Firepower” Concepts. Below is how I think the Chrysler line up should look.

Entry-Level SUV (luxury SUV rival to the MKC or the LR-RangeRover Evoque or maybe something more along the lines of a Mid-size SUV)

Mid-Tier/Entry-Level sedan (replacing the 300, make it larger and built it nice enough to compete with the likes of the C-Class through the E-Class)

Full-Size Top-Tier “Flagship” Sedan (to compete with the likes of an E-Class through the S-Class or the current Lincoln Continental (or) Cadillac CT6)

Full-Size “Flagship” SUV (to compete with the likes of a Range Rover or the Lincoln Navigator).

Luxury Sports Coupe (To rival the likes of the Aston Martin DB11 (or) Lexus LC500) (Make it an updated version of their Firepower Concept)

Mid-Engine supercar (They should build this as an exclusive vehicle. A Very luxurious Mid-Engine supercar (Based on their ME-412 Prototype vehicle) For those who may doubt me on their potential to build a mid-engine supercar, check out the ME-412 in action https://youtu.be/oHVsNNQLJPc (the vehicle was canceled due to DaimlerChrysler AG deciding to put money into building & putting the SLR McLaren on the roads instead of the ME-412)).

I’d love to hear all of your thoughts on this too ?

    • HURACAN

I agree, maybe the sports coupe could be an ATS-V competitor.

  • HURACAN

Imo, they should redesign the Challenger. I think they should make the design look less bulkier, smaller, and slightly narrower. Although I do like the current Challenger’s design. But just needs a redesign.
