We generally like our police chases to end with the bad guys in cuffs. This time, though, it was the law enforcement agents that suffered the most.
The accident took place last weekend in Kola, Russia, where DPS (Traffic Police) officers attempted to chase down a Mazda6 driven by somebody who, according to the video’s description, had a few too many drinks.
As fate would have it, it wasn’t the drunk driver who lost control, despite the immensely close call they had with an old Audi. Instead, the Ford Focus Sedan driven by the DPS got real wiggly under braking, which led to its forceful exit off the road.
Whether or not the officer behind the wheel panicked when faced with incoming traffic is one thing. The worst part however is that this particular patch of tarmac didn’t feature much of a run-off area, which resulted in the Focus flying off the side of the road.
Also, if you look close to the right just as the video starts playing, you can see just how far down that ditch supposedly goes. We can see a building not too far away, but we can’t make out just how tall it is. Regardless, let’s hope the officers made it out OK.
