Bid On This 2007 Naturally Aspirated, 6-Speed Manual Audi RS4

When it comes to four-door sports sedans, few are more critically acclaimed than the B7 Audi RS4, a naturally aspirated V8-powered straight line brawler able to keep up with most supercars of its time.

This is also an award-winning car, having claimed WCOTY’s ‘World Performance Car’ award back in the day. Same goes for its 420 PS (414 HP) and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque 4.2-liter V8, which has won its fair share of awards.

As for this particular Mugello Blue car, which is getting auctioned off on Bring a Trailer, it has 90,000 miles (144,840 km) on the clock, as well as some wear and tear.

One could argue that most driving enthusiasts would gladly overlook any imperfections (chipped paintwork, cracked mirror housing etc.) in order to get behind the wheel of a naturally aspirated V8-powered Audi with a 6-speed manual gearbox and quattro all-wheel drive. This car has also been fitted with KW v3 coilovers, which have lowered the ride height by about an inch.

As for the interior, it features Recaro seats, carbon fiber trim, a sunroof, retractable rear sunshades, aluminum pedals and the Audi Navigation Plus system.

Now, if you’re looking for reasons not to bid, the ad does specify that the stock DRC suspension system did fail and that in 2015 the car took on damage to its right rear door. We’re willing to bet though that finding a new owner won’t be too much trouble, seeing as this one is one of the last of a dying breed.

  • Wasn’t the steering wheel Flat Bottomed from the Gallardo? …maybe it was optional in some markets

I’m not sure the North American market for the flat-bottom steering wheels on the B7 RS4.

Isn’t that 4.2 one of the troubled carbon build-up engines?

    • HaltestelleLuitpolthafen

The 4.2 had a ton of issues, including timing chain guides and tensioner problems on the older ones.

Any older Audi with the 4.2 should be avoided. This also applies to the 2.7TT.

Just looking at this thing makes me feel old. With a few exceptions, N/A engines with manual transmissions are all but dead nowadays. Feels like I’m going to be reminiscing about the “good ‘ol days” in another 4 years.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I remember being blown away that a stock car could have such a mean exhaust tone.

I believe the operative phrase is, “THANK YOU SIR, MAY I HAVE ANOTHER?!”

I would not say there’s loads of them, but you’re right. There are some. The problem is that the engines are usually weak and the cars are also nothing special. The only exception is Mazda. Toyta has also good 1,5 l engine in yaris and honda has a good NA engine in jazz. And then there is a kia ceed, but it will be replaced with a new generation soon. There is literally nothing else that would be worth getting a NA engine.
