Police In China Pull Nine-Foot King Cobra Out Of Van’s Dashboard

Snakes are scary animals. If you don’t agree, you’re either a little crazy or far braver than we are. After watching this video, however, those few of you may start to seriously reconsider your views on snakes.

The following incident took place in China and is truly the stuff of nightmares. In fact, it is worse than a nightmare. Much worse. Perhaps almost as frightening as knowing a serial killer lives on the same street as you.

CNN reports that, after visiting a local market, the driver of this van discovered a nine-foot king cobra taking refuge in his vehicle. The driver promptly called the appropriate authorities, who subsequently discovered the snake hiding beneath the dashboard.

Footage from the scene shows a brave snake handler using a massive pair of tongs to extract the cobra from the dashboard. Watching the venomous beast slither out from the same place you probably keep your service manual is enough to make us check twice before entering a car ever again.

Fortunately, those tasked with removing the snake, as well as the snake itself, were not harmed during the ordeal.

If only it was a cute and cuddly Koala, things would have been different. A king cobra, though? Sounds like a horror flick. Come to think of it, how about “Snakes In A Car”? If you can attach Samuel L. Jackson to it, then maybe…
