Seventy years is a heck of a long time – and a definite cause for celebration. And that’s just what Porsche Design is doing with this latest addition to its collection of timepieces.

Called the 1919 Daytimer 70Y Sports Car Limited Edition, the latest from Porsche Design celebrates the eponymous automaker’s milestone anniversary. It features design elements inspired by the Porsche 356, and more specifically its dashboard instruments, which it reinterprets here in the form of a wristwatch that’s sure to please the most diehard Porschephiles.

The timepiece features a 42-mm titanium case, which is coated in a matte-black titanium carbine finish and water-resistant to 10 atmospheres. Inside is a Swiss automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve. The dial is black and features the silhouette of the 356 and the celebrated year 1948. The hands are white, the indices in ceramic, and there’s a date window at 3 o’clock. The case-back’s engraved with the 70 Years logo, and the piece is fastened to the wrist with a smooth black leather strap.

Want to get your hands on one – or rather put one on your wrist? Better act fast, because Porsche will only make 1,948 examples, as a nod to the year in which the company was founded. Each watch will retail for €2,948 (nearly $3,500 at current exchange rates) and will be available through a network of 130 Porsche Design stores around the world, as well as Porsche dealers, various other retailers, and the company’s own website. But if you miss out, Porsche Design has 13 other versions of the 1919-collection wristwatch to choose from.
