Volvo is racing forward with plans to electrify its entire range, becoming one of the first established car manufacturers to do so. While it’s hard to know for sure exactly what the following video is previewing, it certainly appears related to some kind of electric vehicle.
The clip, recently shared on Facebook, is titled ‘The sound of #360c’ and includes a caption that reads “This could be the sound of your future ride. What do you think it’s saying?” To be honest, we have no idea what it’s saying.
The brief sound clip included in the video is a pleasant chime that would sound perfect as the opening tone for an infotainment system or something similar. However, the sound could be much more significant than that.
Those commenting on the Facebook post have provided all sorts of guesses as to what the sound could signify. One said it could be the chime that rings when you enter a fully-autonomous Volvo models. The Swedish car manufacturer said this was a “very interesting guess.”
Interestingly, Volvo says in another comment that it is “looking even further ahead in the future” than electric vehicles. Could Volvo possibly see a brighter future for something other than electric powertrains? Only time will tell.
As for the #360c that’s included in the clip, it’s also difficult to know what that is referring to. It could be the name of a future concept or be something entirely unrelated to an upcoming Volvo model.
Whatever this teaser is teasing, it’s obvious that Volvo firmly believes vehicles can still offer all the emotion you’d ever want in the electrified age.
