Limited Edition Abarth 124 GT Priced From £33,625 In The UK

UK buyers will have to spend upwards of £33,625 ($44,150) for the Abarth 124 GT, which also happens to be limited to just 50 cars. Meanwhile, only three colors are available in Portogallo 1974 Grey, San Marino 1972 Black and Turini 1975 White.

The Abarth 124 GT comes standard with a carbon fiber roof, 17-inch OZ ultra-light alloys, a Bose sound system and the Visibility Pack, which features dusk and rain sensors, rear parking sensors and adaptive front LED headlights.

Future owners will be able to remove the 16 kg carbon fiber hard-top very easily, making the transition from a small, sporty grand tourer to a convertible. The roof is also said to maintain the car’s 50:50 weight distribution and even comes with an efficient defroster for the rear window.

Other features include the the mechanical self-locking differential, offering improved traction, but also the Record Monza exhaust system, giving the car its recognizable Abarth sound.

Powering the 124 GT is a 1.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 170 PS (168 HP) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque. In a straight line, it can take you from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.8 seconds, while top speed is set at 144 mph (231 km/h), as far as the manual transmission version is concerned. Opt for the 6-speed automatic and you’ll be hitting 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, maxing out at 142 mph (228 km/h).

The 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo engine is said to have a combined cycle of 44.1 mpg (6.4 l/100km – 36.7 US mpg) for the manual and 42.8 mpg (6.6 l/100km – 35.6 US mpg) for the automatic.

Why limited to just 50 cars? I thought the GT’s fixed roof would be an option on any existing or new Spider version.

That’s how many people they are expecting to buy it 😛

This car is so unattractive. The Miata is faster and better.

    • Eric

FYI the Miata has got softer dampers…

      • SteersUright

Even in the Club Sport version? Doesnt that Miata have the Sachs dampers and Brembo brakes?

        • Eric

Yes even, deliberately the sporty Miata only has got short springs (Bilstein) (sorry not dampers as I said) whereas the Abarth 124 is anyway harder to comply European feeling

    • SteersUright

It is, isnt it? So goofy looking, like an aftermarket special. And, offers no real performance to compensate. I’ll wait for the $50/mo lease or $12k rebates, then I might go look at one.

6.8 seconds? So whats the point if Miata does this in 5.8? Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
