If you have three spare minutes today, you might want to view this truly insane clip of a Corvette drifting its way up a narrow mountain road.

The vehicle in question is a C6-generation Chevrolet Corvette that’s been comprehensively modified to deliver no less than 1060 hp. Not only does that make this Corvette more powerful than an early Bugatti Veyron, it also means that it is able to shred rubber with ease.

The tuned ‘Vette was driven by Matt Field and includes a host of incredible camera angles that perfectly demonstrate Field’s drifting abilities.

The video starts offnear the base of a small mountain road and as Fields makes his way up the twisty road, the slides get ever more impressive and the car gets within inches of hitting trees and unforgiving crash barriers. Just before the mid-way point, he makes a quick pit-stop in the middle of the street for fuel and a fresh set of tires and… off he goes.

There are very few drift cars that we know of that are as quick or demonic as this Corvette. One car which does immediately come to mind is Ken Block’s Ford Mustang-based Hoonicorn V2, which churns out 1400 hp from its twin-turbo 6.7-liter Roush Yates V8.
