2018 Paris Auto Show: A To Z Guide To All The Debuts (Final Update)

Here’s your complete guide to all the hits at the 2018 Mondial de l’Automobile, otherwise known as the Paris Auto Show. The biennial exhibition in France, which alternates with the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany, opens its doors to the press on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, and to the public, from October 4 to 14, 2018.

As you would expect, France’s homegrown brands are heavily featured on the show floors of the expo at the Place de la Porte de Versailles, with Citroen along with its luxury brand DS, Peugeot and Renault, all planning several world premieres. These include the DS 3 Crossback, Peugeot’s retroliscious e-Legend concept and a handful of studies from Renault.

But wait, I hear a lot of carmakers are absent from this year’s show

That is correct. In fact, a dozen major auto brands are skipping the 2018 Paris Auto Show. The list of absentees includes Bentley, Ford, Opel, Mazda, MINI, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Volvo, Volkswagen and FCA’s Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Jeep brands. But make no mistake; the upheaval is not limited to the French expo, as we’ve seen a steady decline of interest in all traditional auto shows held in closed convention centers over the past decade.

  • Well the list of cars is impressive, but the problem is that most manufacturer has announced the cars before the carshow…

For me the real deal is the new 911 and it is still not fully revealed … and probably the BMW 3-rd series. The AMG A35 is another car which I want to see in pictures different than the official (as Mercedes are really bad with them IMHO).

  • Liam Paul

wow all the major players were no show or just no pics?

  • The Skoda Vision RS is NOT AN SUV!!!!!

  • Ruel Lewis

This looks like its going to be a pretty boring show. Most of these cars are are uninteresting with one or two cool concepts from the french brands. I hope we get a couple surprises.

    • Given a lot of manufacturer didn’t attend and many of the car has been launched online, yeah it’s not really full of surprises.

  • Sebastien

I think you missed the RAV4 hybrid. They have revealed some information like the AWD system, the fuel economy and performance.
