Roush, Shelby and Saleen used to be synonymous with Mustangs, but as consumers have embraced pickups so have all three companies. The latest is Roush which has taken the wraps off its 2018 F-150 Nitemare.

Being billed as the “ultimate street performance truck,” the F-150 Nitemare features sportier front fascia with a black Roush grille that has integrated lighting units. The truck has also been equipped with a front bumper cover, a windshield banner and side graphics. Rounding out the exterior styling changes are a hitch cover and 22-inch wheels that are wrapped in Continental Cross Contact tires.

Customers can also order an optional soft tonneau cover and an active exhaust system. The latter has quiet, loud and custom modes which can be selected via a smartphone app or a center console mounted dial.

Interior changes are minor as the truck has WeatherTech floor liners and an individually numbered badge on the center console. Customers can also order optional leather seats for Regular and SuperCrew variants.

Power comes from a 5.0-liter V8 engine which has been outfitted with a ROUSHcharged TVS R2650 supercharger, a cat-back exhaust system, an optimized ECU and a high-flow air filter. Thanks to these changes, the truck has 650 hp (484 kW / 659 PS) and 610 lb-ft (826 Nm) of torque. For comparison, the standard 5.0-liter V8 engine develops 395 hp (295 kW / 400 PS) and 400 lb-ft (541 lb-ft) of torque.

The F-150 Nitemare costs an additional $16,999 over the base truck, so buyers are looking at shelling out over $50,000 for the truck depending on its configuration.
