If you like animated movies as well as cars, then remember to keep an eye out next year for Twentieth Century Fox’s film, Spies in Disguise, set to be released in cinemas in September of 2019.

The movie stars Will Smith and Tom Holland, the former providing the voice for super-spy Lance Sterling, who gets to drive a fictional Audi concept car dubbed the RSQ e-tron, that was designed specifically for the silver screen.

Features on the car include a hologram speedometer, electric mobility and fully automated driving technology – something any self-respecting future spy wouldn’t do without.

“Audi takes a digital, forward-looking approach to the design process, both in developing fictional content and in the production modeling studio,” stated Frank Rimili, head of Exterior Design Studio 3 at Audi. “At Audi Design, we combine state-of-the-art digital visualization techniques with handmade precision. These processes enable us to implement futuristic design ideas with the same precision in the development of a fictional virtual concept vehicle such as the RSQ e-tron.”

According to Audi, this concept will help to further build awareness for their fully electric e-tron products, as its presence in a movie about future technologies that can save the world “is the perfect match for the Audi brand,” added Audi marketing VP, Giovanni Perosino.

“Similar to our cars, fun, innovation and performance are key elements of the storyline.”

Audi will continue to collaborate with Twentieth Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios to produce another animated content piece next year, featuring the two main characters of Spies in Disguise.
