Vaughn Gittin Jr. has joined the elite owner’s club of the Ford GT, after taking delivery of his personal example, finished in the unusual Lead Foot Gray with no stripes.

The Formula Drift Champion wanted to give his Ford GT a rare spec, and seeing one with no stripes is indeed a rare sight. Despite having a race car with 1,000hp, Vaughn was impressed with the GT’s performance, saying that the experience behind the wheel is “like no other car”.

Vaughn is keen on driving and enjoying his Ford GT instead of having it covered in a garage, which is great news. Even greater, he plans to share the experience of the GT ownership with every given opportunity.

The Ford GT uses a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 647hp and 550lb-ft of torque paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which is enough to send it on to a top speed of 216mph (347km/h). The chassis features a special hydraulic suspension with a dedicated track mode. The latter drops the car by 2 inches closer to the ground and tunes the powertrain for maximum performance.

Ford has recently extended the production of the GT by two years in order to cover the customer demand. In total, the company will build 1,350 examples when production ends in 2022.
