Yay Or Nay For This Custom Kia Stinger GT Widebody Makeover?

Can you believe the Kia Stinger is already almost 2 years old? Well, time does fly indeed, and during this period we have seen it become a favorite among reviewers and a booster of Kia’s image.

The sports sedan, which has the Audi A5 Sportback and BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe in its sights, has already been tuned several times.

After West Coast Customs added its name on that list, Ark Performance has joined them with their very own propositions.

The U.S. company has equipped the Stinger with a widebody kit, which it calls Legato. It adds wheel arch extensions on all four corners, a spoiler lip, diffuser, wing and different hood. Ark Performance is asking $4,350 for the complete body kit, but they’re also selling the front and rear arch extensions separately, at $998 and $1,360, respectively. For the fiberglass hood and wing, they’re asking $929 and $529. Inside, there are red leather and black suede upholstery, as well as a new sound system, though no price was specified.

Complete with its metallic red paint, new suspension and exhaust, and 20-inch forged wheels, the Kia Stinger was displayed at the 2018 SEMA Show, in Las Vegas.

The Korean automaker was also present at the event with a few custom creations, including the DUB Stinger GT, which stood out thanks to a few interesting upgrades, including a widebody kit, carbon fiber hood, sports exhaust system, air ride suspension and 22-inch rims, among others.

Lovely colour … But that’s about it

    • Craig

Yes. Very nice. It reminds of an old Cadillac color. Rosewood or something.

  • Honda NSX-R

    Nay

  • Blade t

    ghetto.

  • kachuks

It’s not horrific, by today’s standard. But why mess with such good looking design?

  • b_digital

f the haters, this conversion is well done

  • Craig

I don’t like the ‘wham, slam, thank you ma’am’ look. On any car.

  • Mr. EP9

Nay. And even more so with those wheels. It’s nice enough on it’s own.

  • Lloyd Anthony D Peters

I dig it. The color works well. The conversion is well done. It’s suppose to be overkill. And it does that very well. The front is clean. Especially the flanks heading to the front doors. Wheels are a bit much. But that can be changed.

  • SteersUright

Im all for wider cars when the fenders look well integrated like an OEM job. This looks too aftermarket for my tastes.

    • Danny Boy

      Very well stated!

  • Subi-Rubicon1

I think it looks great, but it sure needs more finesse!

  • Biggsy

Ugly, tacked on wide body kit. Looks better stock and lowered.

  • TheBelltower

Good gawd! Send this thing directly to the crusher.

  • JohnW

The Stinger is one year old. The author should learn to Google.

  • Six_Tymes

    Tacky

  • Green_Nuke

Where’s the pic of the sword-swinging anime hero leaping out of this thing to vanquish his evil foe?

  • Bash

I say leave the stigner the way it is, it’s fine in its stock form. I seen many tries of modifications on it, never liked anyone.

  • Kagan

Mostly yeah but not ultra lowered.

  • Watchful Fox

A definite resounding NAY on this POS.

  • schnittz

    lipstick on a pig! nay!

  • Not tired of winning yet

That would be a swing and a miss. Tries to be understated but comes off very heavy-handed.

  • Billy Lthr

Honestly, Kia made the Stinger look perfect already, would we paint a new dress on Mona Lisa?

  • Danny Boy

Thank you for your honesty! Call me a name whore, but I think the that Badge ruins any opportunity for that car being the greatness that it could. I love the design tho…
