If you live in the UK and you want to own Audi’s most technologically-advanced crossover, spending £82,240 OTR ($104,710) would certainly be a great start, as it would land you the e-tron Launch Edition model, which you can order beginning with early 2019.

Granted, that is a lot of money, but in return for your “investment”, you’d be getting an all-electric luxury people hauler, boasting the automaker’s virtual door mirrors, Matrix LED lighting, Valcona leather, 21-inch alloys and more.

The foldable mirrors reduce the width of the e-tron by 15 cm (5.9 inches), and their cameras feature a resolution of 1,280 x 1,080 pixels, offering you good all-weather visibility – aided by a heating function that prevents the cameras from misting over or freezing. This function also powers itself on when the camera sensors detect dirt.

More money, more style

Visual hallmarks of the e-tron Launch Edition include a black styling pack for the Singleframe grille surround and window cappings, plus the privacy glass extending from the B-pillar rearwards. Inside, you’ll find features such as the panoramic glass sunroof, illuminated door sill trims, matte brushed aluminum inlays and Valcona leather instead of Twin leather.

As for on-board tech, get ready to enjoy your fully digital Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus display, two large MMI touch response displays with haptic feedback and voice control, Audi Smartphone interface, Audi Phonebox wireless charging, MMI navigation plus and internet-based Audi connect infotainment services.

Other available features include the electric steering wheel adjustment, adaptive cruise control, camera-based traffic sign recognition and a 360-degree camera with panoramic views and a bird’s eye view.

Then there’s the Edition 1

During launch, prospective e-tron owners who have gone in on Audi UK’s deposit scheme (which grants ordering priority ahead of the crossover’s 2019 on-sale date), will be given first refusal on a limited edition model dubbed Edition 1.

Audi will only make 30 such examples for the UK, all of which will feature a panoramic glass sunroof, four-zone electronic climate control, a Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System and acoustic glazing. As for its visual highlights, it comes with an Antigua blue metallic paint, orange brake calipers, 21-inch turbine design alloy wheels, the Audi beam incorporating an Edition 1 logo and aluminum exterior elements.
