A Jaguar I-PACE EV Was Found Consumed By Fire In The Netherlands

A Jaguar I-PACE was found burning in the Netherlands. By the time fire services could come to its rescue, its front end had already been destroyed.

According to Autobahn, the cause of the fire remains unknown, which means this could have just as easily been either an electrical issue, or perhaps a simple case of arson courtesy of a pyromaniac. Hopefully authorities will get to the bottom of things as they investigate.

Regardless of the cause, this might very well be the first ever documented Jaguar I-PACE fire, which means that the British automaker will also be extremely interested in finding out exactly what went wrong.

As for the damage, there is definitely no fixing this crossover. While small fires that are extinguished in time can have little to no effect on the well-being of a vehicle, one of this magnitude will pretty much reduce whatever car you own to a pile of scrap, even in circumstances where the entire length of the vehicle may not have been engulfed in flames.

To us, it looks as though the front axle Synchronous Permanent Magnet motor is done for, and probably so is the electrical system, although if the battery can be salvaged, you could consider that a win of sorts.

The best part is that nobody was reportedly harmed by the flames.

We’ll hear something from Jag CEO soon… oh wait… who is the CEO?

    • Rares

      Ralf Speth

    • Rares

Also are you a fan of Tesla

    • ➡️ProtectOurHeritage⬅️

Ralf Speth is the CEO. He worked at BMW for twenty years before joining Jaguar Land Rover. He knows a thing or two about companies manufacturing decent-quality cars for a profit. I guess he doesn’t spend his time smoking pot, knocking back Ambien and libeling people on social media.

I don’t normally agree with many of your comments, but this one made me laugh out loud. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/77259eff75a6df7364b4be6622ea517e44fe6566cb3e3a1cdf86750f05993c40.gif

Funny, considering Tesla is now more valuable than Daimler. But you won’t read that news here as the writers were too busy reporting on the world’s most ridiculous tailpipes.

        • ➡️ProtectOurHeritage⬅️

There’s many factors why Tesla is “more valuable” in stock market terms than other companies, but it doesn’t guarantee them future stability or success.

      • Perry F. Bruns

I don’t agree with many of your comments either, but that was funny. However, I thought it was Ambien, libel and THEN pot.

  • Mr. EP9

Ok, and? Lots of cars catch on fire and burn down from various causes. At least the battery pack didn’t reignite multiple times. That would have made things worse.

  • sojournerman1

Not enough jags on the road to count , wonder how many will have caught on fire by the time they reach 20k cars on the road ??

    • TheHake

There are quite a lot of these i-Pace things in the Netherlands because the tax break you get on them will end this year. So you see truck loads being delivered to rich businessmen.

      • sojournerman1

As true as that is it’s still statistically not relevant till there’s more of them on the road
