Japan’s Veilside Is Working On A Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ Bodykit

In the world of Japanese tuning companies, few are more famous than Veilside.

Soon after its formation in the early 1990s, Veilside started to produce a number of crazy bodykits for popular Japanese performance cars, including the Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, and Honda NSX. The company then gained worldwide recognition after its vehicles were regularly featured in the Fast and Furious franchise.

We haven’t heard much from the company in recent year,s but it is still around and working on a new bodykit for the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ twins, despite the duo being more than six years old.

The images you’ll find below show that Veilside hasn’t messed around when it comes to tweaking the exterior styling of the four-cylinder sports cars. In fact, the tuner has developed a brand new hood for the cars, complete with sharp lines and markings which appear to preview cut-outs where air extractors will be featured.

A new bumper has also been developed and it, too, is very aggressive and drastically alters the look of the car.

Veilside hasn’t said when it intends on revealing its Toyota 86/Subaru BRZ bodykit; however, the timing of these photos suggests a launch might not be far away, perhaps at the Tokyo Auto Salon in mid-January.

A tuner? Because you make a body kit doesn’t make you a tuner. Veilside relishes on their use in F&F. Body kit =/= tuner…

The Veilside Fortune RX7 was tuned to 640HP using twin turbos. The final RX7 III stock was a 255hp engine.

The Veilside Supra MK4 GTR they tuned outputted 680HP.

Veilside has always done both, match the car to the new look. So ya, Veilside is a legit tuning company in my books who do fantastic body work.

I always liked the Veilside RX7, it made the car look more modern.

  • Mr. EP9

A body kit won’t be enough to redeem these cars and adding body kits don’t make you a tuner. I did like the some of the kits they did of the Mk4 Supra from the old days but, like Mugen, Veilside is past their prime.

its just going to add weight. unless a body kit somehow reduced weight, no thanks.

Honestly looks like what I’d imagine a modern day Celica to look like.

Same here, I wonder if when the next-gen model comes out, will it be renamed Celica or it’ll keep being the 86

      • cargeniuass

Celica is its own name plate. The hierarchy would be Celica, GT86, Supra.

        • J. P.

I honestly disagree. The hierarchy would be MR2, Celica, Supra… That is, of course if a new MR2 happens

          • Hanniel I

I’d honestly hope all those cars could have theyre own uniqueness to them. Wouldnt mind the 3 brothers becoming 4 either.
