Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Does Some RWD Burnouts

There’s nothing wrong with the title; as you can see, a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is burning its rear tires. But how is that possible?

By messing around with the fuse box, an easy DIY process, which pretty much transforms the powerful SUV into a higher-riding Hellcat, that’s how. Moreover, all work is reversible, so the Jeep can regain its all-wheel drive capability without breaking any sweat.

Should one opt to pull the said fuse, they should expect to see the Traction Control system deactivated, something that also shows up in the instrument cluster. We’re not sure if this has other consequences, besides some uneven tire wear. Thus, we wouldn’t recommend anyone to try this on their own, despite the fun factor that can arise from the 707 HP Trackhawk with rear-wheel drive.

This trick is said to have been previously performed to a Dodge Durango, yielding identical results.

FCA’s super SUV is, in fact, the most powerful out there, beating even the mighty Lamborghini Urus. Granted, it has a lower top speed, at “only” 189 mph (290 km/h), compared to the Raging Bull’s 196 mph (305 km/h), but the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint time of 3.5 seconds in practically identical to both rides.

    Burnout videos?

    Slow news day? 😒

I think it’s pretty cool that just a fuse is controlling the AWD function. I’m now wondering if it’s similar in my FX50 so I can do some rear wheel burnouts too.

The transfer case the Grand Cherokee uses varies depending on the model and which engine it has. The Trackhawk uses a single-speed (no low range) Magna Powertrain 3015C transfer case. It has electronically-controlled multi-disc clutches.

Taking the fuse out that corresponds to the transfer case control module disables the internal clutches. So no torque is sent to the front wheels.

The Trawkhawk doesn’t have a permanent four-wheel system with a geared center differential.

What so special about that. I do that every other day or so on my drive way in the morning. Not to that extent, but yeah.

You can do this on the KIA Stinger too.

Tires for the trackhawk probably aren’t cheap..

My favorite SUV, right here. I don’t care about the fuel consumption and the Chrysler quality, 707hp, AWD and all the space in the world is so cool.

I don’t get why people think this is cool still. It’s so lame and we have seem millions of videos of the same crap. If you want to show people something cool, go drifting and show your skills. Not this rubbish.
