Mazda CX-7 Driver Shoots (!) At Cammer During Road Rage Incident

An 85-year old Florida man opened fire on another driver during a road rage incident, allegedly striking his car several time.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was driving home from work when he looked in his rear view mirror and noticed a man, later identified as Christino Aquino, in a white Mazda CX-7 flashing his high-beam. Aquino then followed the man back to his neighborhood, which is when the latter called 911.

While talking to police dispatch, he stated that Aquino had on him something that looked like a gun, “wrapped in a white rag or a plastic bag”. Afterwards, while attempting to get his license plate, the latter began shooting – and you can clearly hear it as well as see the muzzle flash in the video below.

After managing to get away, the man met up with deputies who received a copy of his dashboard camera recording, which led to Aquino’s arrest at his home, where authorities also found the white CX-7, as reported by Click Orlando.

Deputies also stated that Aquino was accompanied by a woman at the time of the incident, who claimed that the 85-year old was following the victim in order to “see what he wanted.” She then said that while she did see him hold the gun, she didn’t know if he actually fired it.

Aquino was arrested on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was taken to the Marion County Jail, and was subsequently released after posting bond.

  • robotlogic

And he would of just passed him on the grass and kept driving the shooting would not of happened.

  • Stigasawuswrecks

I can’t believe this happened in Florida.

    • There’s a little bit of urban/hood CHICAGO gang behavior in very non urban non hood non CHICAGO Florida.

      • Stigasawuswrecks

        What?

  • Paul

If he’d have just moved out of the other guy’s way and kept going there would’ve been no gunfire. Almost like the cammer was looking for trouble.

    • Momogg

Yes this is what i thought after watching the video.

    • Stigasawuswrecks

Or if the gun didn’t shoot there would have been no gunfire. Imagine that?

  • Momogg

Take the plate number and go away! What the cammer wanted to do? Provocation?

There’s a new illness being reported called “dashcam justification” where someone with a camera in their windscreen will do things they shouldn’t, or normally wouldn’t, because they feel justified by the simple fact that everything is being recorded.

What is worse is that it also often ends up in defending bad behavior, and disregard for the facts that everyone else can see in the video itself.

      • Ben

I’ve see this very disease. People putting themselves and everyone else endanger with the “justification” of “This is going on YouTube!!”.

Without a doubt the shooter needs to be caught and put in prison. As with many others, there are things about the victim that just don’t make sense.

    1. You tell dispatch (assuming you’re really talking to dispatch) that he shouted at you, yet that part is edited out of the video.
    2. The guy takes a shot at you (assuming any of this is real), then you turn around and head toward him.

    It smells funny.
