2019 Nissan Pathfinder Gets More Rugged Looks With $1,000 Rock Creek Edition Option

Nissan presented the Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition at the Chicago Auto Show today. We have added new images from Nissan’s stand in the gallery below. (Update 2/7/2019)

Nissan has prepped a number of updates for the 2019 Pathfinder in the United States, which come in the form of the Rock Creek Edition package.

Available for the 2WD and 4WD SV and SL grades, in a choice of seven exterior colors, the new package will be available starting this spring, priced at $995. The company also adds that the Rock Creek Edition pack reflects savings of up to $1,315, compared to a similarly equipped Pathfinder.

The vehicle’s exterior features black accents, which can be found on the grille, roof rails, side mirror caps, front and rear ends, license plate finisher and other parts. These are joined by the 4WD logos (on 4WD models) and unique badging on the front doors, as well as 18-inch wheels covered in 255/60 all-season tires.

The two-tone seating surfaces, high contrast stitching on the seats, console lid, steering wheel and doors, more special badging and metallic trim complete the cabin of the new Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition.

Those who desire more from their Pathfinders can order the SL Rock Creek Edition Premium Package, which costs $2,110 and adds a Bose premium sound system and power moonroof.

Other optional features are the Rock Creek Edition Technology Package, aimed at the SV, with its NissanConnect, navigation, SiriusXM, heated seats, steering wheel and side mirrors, for $980. The 360-degree camera system, dual panorama moonroof, electric tailgate and others are also available.

The 2019 Pathfinder is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine, with 284 hp (288 PS / 212 kW) and 259 lb-ft (310 Nm) of torque, which offers a standard towing capacity of 6,000 lbs (2,722 kg).

The Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition will be on display at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show.

Just adding lipstick to a piggy. Nissan needs to get it together, fast. Its sales last month tanked big time and they need to stop the loss of blood. I wonder if the Ghosn mess impacted any of it. Auto News says that Nissan has a new sales model, which is falling flat on its face.

This thing needs a redesign so bad, and it needs to look the way the original Pathfinder looked (or the way the previous gen looked at least).

I was wondering when they were going to update the Nissan Town & Country Minivan…

  • KAG25

I like Nissan, but they got some models going on over a decade needing a new model, this one, the Frontier, the Z, GT-R.

lol over a decade. Darn near two decades (for some) as of now.

      • KAG25

The Frontier must be at least 16 years

Ick…why did they waste their time? They need to redesign quickly or put this thing out of it’s misery.

  • Dan Facciolo

    Thank you, next…

      Not interested?

Gotta be getting at least 6k off MSRP to move them off the lot now.

  • U8INIT

As bland as this thing is, it’s a cash cow for Nissan…it easily sells 5K a month no problem.

Is that Rock Creek as in Rock Creek Park in Washington DC? A very nice park snaking down between NW and NE DC, with parkways that function as curvy commuter speedways during rush hours. I used to live in NW and had a parking spot on the Mall. It was a relatively fun Monaco Gran Prix commute through the park. This by the way is not the ideal vehicle for that purpose.

They really need a new version, hopefully it has a updated infotainment system with Andriod Auto.
