A number of us have probably been stuck in project car hell.  The reasons vary widely and include everything from taking on a huge project to being faced with the prospect of spending more money than the car is worth.

Despite these issues, it’ll still hard to let go of a project that you’ve invested time and money in. A listing on Facebook Marketplace seems to make fun of this as they’re asking $40,000 AUD ($28,512 USD / £22,058 / €25,200) for a pile of rust which used to resemble a Ford Falcon XB.

As you can see in the photo, which appears to have been taken from another post, there isn’t much left of the car besides the tires and windshield. As a result, anyone considering paying more than scrap prices is probably out of their mind.

Despite the obvious problems, the listing jokingly says the model “has some rust” but is a “great car” that could be restored to its former glory. The post goes onto say they’re firm about the $40,000 AUD price, despite the possibility of needing a new battery because “I can’t get it started.”

The listing also notes this is a “regretful sale” as the car was “my baby.” The seller goes onto say they were originally going to fix it up, but ran out of money.

While the post is clearly a joke, anyone with a hankering for a ’76 Falcon can pick up this beautifully restored ute for $65,000 AUD ($46,325 USD / £35,839 / €40,950).
