Ford is bringing back the iconic Grabber Lime color for the 2020 Mustang, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day (March 17).

Inspired by a vintage Mustang color from the 1970s, Grabber Lime is a high-impact (some would call it flashy) green paint that will definitely not go unnoticed on the street — especially when applied to the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500. Ford cheekily calls it “more potent than krypton-ite.”

“It’s lime green on steroids. This color traces back to a Mustang heritage color while bringing it forward with more modern, dynamic pigments and bold new energy,” said Barb Whalen, Ford color and materials manager.

Grabber Lime is one of two new feature colors available for the 2020 Mustang lineup, the other being Twister Orange. In addition to these striking paintworks, Ford will freshen up the 2020 Mustang color palette with new Iconic Silver and Red Hot Metallic. These colors will be available including for the Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT500 muscle cars.

The facelifted 2020 Ford Mustang lineup arrives this fall with the most important update being the return of the Shelby GT500 as a range-topping model. With more than 700 horsepower from a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, the 2020 Shelby GT500 is the fastest and most powerful Mustang ever

It’s capable of going from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in about 3.5 seconds and covering the quarter-mile in under 11 seconds. The top speed will be capped at 180 mph (289 km/h), Ford announced yesterday. As for the rest of the Mustang lineup, we should expect minor updates. Rumor has it Ford will add a more powerful 2.3-liter EcoBoost model for 2020.
