The flagship version of Audi’s Q2 range, the SQ2, will cost UK buyers upwards of £36,800 ($48,678), with order books now open and first deliveries taking place this month.

Power comes from a revised 2.0-liter TFSI engine, producing 296 HP (300 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. With the help of a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch automatic and Quattro all-wheel drive, the SQ2 can launch itself from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.8 seconds.

Compared to a regular Q2, this rowdier version comes equipped with multiple visual mods for the exterior, such as the newly sculpted front bumper, a splitter, SQ2 logos, matte titanium grey C-pillar blade, silver diffuser, roof edge spoiler and 18-inch alloy wheels fitted as standard. Buyers can however opt for either the gloss white 19-inch alloys in a ‘5-double-spoke’ design with a diamond cut finish, or the 19-inch ‘5-arm’ Audi Sport wheels in gloss anthracite black.

Then there’s the SQ2 Exterior Pack, which adds black accents to the radiator grille surround, tailpipes, C-pillar blade, door mirror housings and rear diffuser, to go with a larger rear spoiler.

Standard interior features include the dual-zone climate control, an extended leather pack, a 3.5″ color Driver’s Information System and a flat-bottomed S multi-function steering wheel. Also available is the distinctive Interior Pack, which adds black and red front sports seats in Fine Nappa leather with contrast stitching – as an alternative to the standard leather/Alcantara ones. You also get an LED interior lighting pack, front floor mats with the SQ2 logo and red air vents.

As for optional extras, there’s the Technology Pack and the Comfort and Sound Pack. The former features MMI Navigation Plus with MMI Touch, the Audi Virtual Cockpit, Audi Phone Box wireless charging and Audi Connect Infotainment Services. Meanwhile, the latter adds a Bang & Olufsen surround sound system, heated front seats and front and rear parking sensors.
