BMW i is returning as an official partner of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival for the third consecutive year, bringing with them an artist-inspired #RoadToCoachella campaign that features singer Khalid.
The German automaker is bringing Khalid’s Free Spirit album to life as part of the campaign, which will also feature a fleet of custom art wrapped BMW i8 and i3 hybrid-electric models, inspired by Free Spirit. Coachella 2019 takes place between April 12 – April 21.
Before the event, a group of hand-picked influencers and VIPs will get to experience the BMW i fleet on the #RoadToCoachella drive, where they will be able to document their journey in real-time through social media using the campaign hashtag.
The #RoadToCoachella Palm Springs pitstop (April 11-14, 12-5 PM), is described as an immersive, one-of-a-kind experience that’s set to allow fans to connect with Khalid. Also present: food trucks, Free Spirit shop, artist inspired BMW bandanas via claw machine and more.
Last but not least, by taking part in the iHeart Radio sweepstakes, one lucky fan will get the chance to win a Coachella weekend which includes the use of a custom-wrapped BMW i8, roadtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, VIP tickets for the festival and a parking pass.
The celebrity lineup at this year’s Coachella Festival will also include the likes of Ariana Grande, The 1975, Donald Glover and renowned composer and music producer Hans Zimmer (Inception, Pearl Harbor, The Dark Knight).
