Speedkore has made a name for itself in recent years with a number of wild muscle cars clad in carbon fiber and fitted with hugely-powered engines. The tuner’s Dodge Charger Evolution is no exception.

The car was first presented at last year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas and absolutely stunned attendees. Now, Jay Leno has experienced the muscle car up close and as you may have guessed, he was pretty impressed with it.

In a change for a Jay Leno’s Garage episode, the comedian actually drives the car first and then takes it back to his garage to inspect in further detail. We’re not complaining as this means we get to see the car in action straight out of the gate.

Powering Speedkore’s Dodge Charger Evolution is a 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 crate engine used by the Dodge Challenger Demon. This powerplant has been outfitted with a number of modifications to now pump out 996 hp at the crank. Mated to this engine is the six-speed manual gearbox of the Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

As impressive as the powertrain of the Charger Evolution is, it’s not the most incredible feature of the car. That would have to be its carbon fiber construction.

Virtually every single panel of the car is made from carbon fiber meaning it weighs just 3200 lbs (1451 kg). For a vehicle of this size and age, that’s absolutely nothing and when you couple that weight with an earth-twisting supercharged V8, it makes for one hell of a road-going rocketship.
