Mercedes-AMG is working on an A35 Sedan and has just released the first video teasing the vehicle.

The Mercedes-AMG A35 Sedan will be virtually identical to the existing A35 hatchback expect for the different body style. Consequently, the car will be differentiated from lesser A-Class Sedan models thanks to a number of aggressive parts, including a new front fascia and a sharp rear diffuser.

In the teaser released by Mercedes-AMG, we can also see that the A35 Sedan will have two circular tailpipes like the hatchback and include a subtle lip spoiler on the trunk lid.

Powering the Mercedes-AMG A35 will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 302 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. This engine will be coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power to all four wheels. The hatchback will hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.7 seconds and a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Identical figures can be expected for the A35 Sedan.

A punchy sedan with impressive performance

Buyers in the United States will be pleased to know that the A35 Sedan should be offered locally unlike the A35 hatchback. Pricing details remain unknown.

Those in the United States looking to pickup up a lesser A-Class Sedan model have to part ways with at least $32,500, excluding a $995 destination and delivery charge. The U.S. range starts with the A 220, outfitted with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four cylinder with 188 hp and 221 lb-ft (299 Nm) of torque. An A 220 4Matic is also on offer from $34,500.

If Mercedes-AMG decides to make an A45 Sedan, it will probably also be sold in the U.S.
