Driving in South Africa opens your eyes to extraordinary landscapes, beautiful roads, and courteous drivers. However, driving in South Africa isn’t all sunshine and roses as many drivers and passengers take unnecessary risks while on the road.

The video found below was filmed in the city of Durban and shows the moment a man falls out of the bed of a pickup which is exiting a highway.

The dashcam of a following vehicle captured the entire scene and frankly, it was inevitable. A pickup truck can be seen in front of the filming car with three people sitting in the back. One of these men can be seen sitting on a generator the moment the pickup starts to make a left turn. With nothing to hold on to, the man falls over the edge of the pickup and slams into the pavement.

Fortunately, both the car filming and the pickup truck which the man was a passenger in both pull over to the side of the road to check on the man.

These types of accidents aren’t uncommon in South Africa. Pickup trucks across the country can be frequently seen carrying up to 10 passengers in their beds as many workers struggle to afford their own vehicles.

It remains to be seen if the man in this video sustained any serious injuries in his fall but he did appear to miss hitting his head.
