The all-new Nissan Sylphy has just premiered at the Shanghai Auto Show, weeks after low-resolution photos of the vehicle leaked online.

The new Sylphy has a much sleeker and more refined exterior look to the vehicle it replaces. The front, for example, includes sharp headlights and fog lights in the lower portion of the bumper, as well as a black grille with a three-dimensional V-motion design. The rear also looks particularly good thanks to the presence of bold character lines on the sides of the bumper and new taillights.

Nissan says the re-designed exterior of the new Sylphy means it has a drag coefficient of just 0.26, equal to that of the Nissan GT-R.

The Japanese car manufacturer has yet to announce important powertrain details for the vehicle, except for the fact that it uses its new HR16DE Gen 3 intelligent drive engine mated to an Xtronic transmission. Additional details about this powertrain will likely be announced as the Shanghai Auto Show progresses.

Moving to the interior and you’ll find that the latest Nissan Sylphy offers seating for five people and will be offered with black, light grey, or tan trimmings. Found in the center of the dashboard is an 8-inch infotainment screen while there is a smaller 7-inch digital gauge cluster.

Other important technologies incorporated into the new car include Intelligent Trace Control, Intelligent Ride Control, and Emergency Brake for Pedal Misapplication. There’s also Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Cross Traffic Alert, and Intelligent Driving Alert.

Prices for the new Nissan Sylphy haven’t been announced.
