Hyundai has announced two new special edition versions for its i10 and i20 range in the UK, dubbed PLAY. The former costs upwards of £11,195 ($14,592) while the latter is priced from £14,495 ($18,894). Both models will go on sale April 8th.

The i10 PLAY costs just as much as the i10 SE, yet comes with 15-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, 7″ touchscreen sat-nav system with DAB, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, black gloss door mirror covers and unique badging. The only available engine is a 1.0-liter petrol unit with 67 PS (66 HP).

As for the i20 PLAY, it costs £1,000 less ($1,300) than the i20 SE and comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, plus everything available on the i10 PLAY – like the sat-nav system, black gloss mirror covers and special badging. The i20 PLAY is available either with a 1.2-liter petrol with 84 PS (83 HP) or a 1.0 T-GDi with 100 PS (98 HP), the latter being priced from £15,395 ($20,067).

“Previous special edition models of i10 and i20 have always proven popular with our customers and we expect the same reception to the i10 and i20 PLAY. Both models provide excellent value for any customers seeking high levels of equipment at a lower price,” said Hyundai UK exec Ashley Andrew.

While i10 PLAY editions are available in a choice of 5 colors (Tomato Red, Polar White, Champion Blue, Stardust Grey, Clean Slate), all i20 PLAY models feature a two tone paint finish as standard, with a pearl finish Phantom Black roof complementing the same body color choices as with the i10 PLAY.

Of the two vehicles, the i20 PLAY is the one that offers additional levels of active safety, featuring systems like Driver Attention Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Hill-start Assist Control and speed sensitive door locking, all standard.
