This Vega Blue Example Might Be The Best-Looking McLaren 600LT We’ve Seen

The McLaren 600LT is a very striking piece of automotive design and this example, recently delivered to McLaren San Francisco, might be the best we’ve laid eyes on.

The first element of this 600LT which stands out is the stunning paint job. Dubbed Vega Blue, this color looks absolutely gorgeous with the flowing lines of the hardcore Sports Series model. McLaren’s press pictures of the Coupe, as well as the Spider, showed the vehicles in colors such as green, orange, and purple, but we dare say this one looks better.

Offsetting the blue paint are a number of carbon fiber parts. For example, the front splitter is made exclusively from the lightweight material, as are the side skirts. At the rear, much of the bumper, diffuser, and headlight surrounds are also finished in carbon fiber. The large rear wing is also carbon, but painted grey.

Some other cool aspects this 600LT are the carbon fiber louvers in the front wheel arches and a large carbon fiber roof scoop from McLaren Special Operations. Inside, you’ll find the lightweight seats from the Senna as well as bright orange contrast stitching and seat belts.

Journalists and owners have praised the 600LT since it premiered last year. Powering the hardcore supercar is a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8 pumping out 592 hp. The LT weighs 96 kg (211 lbs) less than the 570S on which it is based and can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.8 seconds, as well as a top speed of 204 mph (328 km/h).

Not a fan of the car but love the color and scoop.

Of course its cool, its low, wide, has neat doors, and tons of exposed carbon. But, its hardly beautiful. Like all McLaren’s, the design is too busy, awkward, with ugly headlights and worse tail lights. McLaren is truly in desperate need of a brand new design team.

Name a beautiful car then, give me your golden standard of a beautiful supercar.

        Beautiful Car

        Supercar Golden Standard For Design
Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport (LOr Blanc variant shown) Not the Chiron. The Chiron while cool & extreme does not generate the same standard set by the Veyron (especially post 2009… personally).
        2004/2005 – 2015

This is my personal opinion in regards to beauty and design beyond aesthetics (comfort, aero, engineering, usability, quality/effort, etc). We all have our own opinion on what looks best to us, by two choices here may and/or may not be in agreement with someone else,.. but, that is what makes an opinion, I suppose.

Decent offerings. I understand what you’re suggesting about the McLaren. Like you said, beauty is our own opinions. I think the McLaren has a Sci-Fi type beauty while the vehicles you listed have a more classical, simplistic beauty. The same goes for vehicles such as the E-Type, Ferrari GTO, etc.

Difference between beautiful, functional, brutal etc.. but can all be “beautiful”.. the Senna I think is brutal and purposeful, but the regular 720s is sleek and clean… all beautiful cars though.. im more a function over form person myself
