Here’s Our Chance To Look Inside The 300 MPH Koenigsegg Jesko

One of the most exciting names in the hypercar world right now is the Jesko, Koenigsegg’s latest model that was unveiled in March at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show.

Officially, this is the replacement of the Agera RS, although the Jesko is far more technologically advanced than its predecessor, courtesy of features such as its Light Speed Transmission technology, an in-house developed gearbox that does away with traditional sync rings.

Thanks to Brooks Weisblat of Dragtimes getting an in-depth tour of the Jesko, we can see just how well-rounded of a product this is, with the Swedish carmaker not skimping on interior luxuries. Aside from being extremely well put together, the Jesko’s cabin features multiple screens that allow the driver to control pretty much every aspect of the car, including opening and closing the doors – since, you know, it would be too much of a hassle to extend your arm and pull the door back down again…

Unlike many other track-focused weapons on wheels, the Jesko will also let you open up its main compartments remotely using the key, which is an appropriately modern touch.

So what does one have to do in order to purchase such a vehicle? Wait for one to pop up on the “used” hypercar market, that’s what. Christian von Koenigsegg revealed that 83 units of the Jesko were accounted for even before its Geneva debut, with the remaining 42 sold within the first five days of its premiere.

It’s safe to assume that the spec sheet alone was sufficient to draw most buyers in. The Jesko’s twin turbo 5.0-liter V8 produces 1,262 HP (1,280 PS) on regular unleaded, but pour E85 in the tank and it will put down 1,578 HP (1,600 PS) and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque, which should help it hit its 300 mph (482 km/h) top speed target.
