Horacio Pagani says that the Italian car manufacturer is done building all-new Zonda models.

During a recent interview with Top Gear, the man behind Pagani Automobili confirmed that the Zonda HP Barchetta really is the final Zonda and that future one-off Zondas wanted by owners will need to be based off existing chassis’.

“On existing Zondas, if a customer asks, we can do it. But only modifying an existing chassis. One of the latest trends is customers asking for one of the very first original Zonda chassis, to perform some modifications on – and then buying another one to fit their own tastes,” Pagani said.

An example of a bespoke Pagani Zonda built in recent years is the Fantasma Evo. This particular model in the ever-growing 760-series range of vehicles started out life as the first right-hand drive Zonda F ever built. Eager to own something even more extraordinary, the vehicle’s owner sent it back to the Pagani factory to be comprehensively modified and upgraded.

The Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta was first announced in August 2017 and is limited to just three examples worldwide. This model features a number of parts inspired by those found on other Zondas, including rear wheel covers like the Zonda ZoZo and taillights like the Zonda 760 LM and Zonda 760 LM Roadster.

During the interview, Pagani also said that the company is getting ready to deliver a one-off Huayra based around one of the very first examples delivered a few years ago.
