The full-size SUV segment has just welcomed include Hyundai’s flagship, the Pallisade. Introduced at the end of last year and launched this summer, it’s the Kia Telluride’s sibling, albeit with a few technology changes and distinct styling.
If the exterior design, which is a matter or personal taste, hasn’t won you over, the cabin will, as you can seat up to 8 occupants and still get a more-than-decent 18 cu-ft (510 liters) of cargo space. There’s a good amount of tech items present, the second row slides forwards and backwards and reclines, and the third row features a reclining function as well. More importantly, access to the rear seats is quite good, and they can be occupied by full-sized adults, who will still be friends with you after the journey.

The 3.8-liter V6 is shared with the Kia Telluride and produces an identical 291 hp (295 PS / 217 kW) and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque and is paired to the same 8-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive models will return 19 mpg (12.4 l/100 km) in the city and 26 mpg (9.1 l/100 km) on the highway, and AWD versions are rated at 19/24 mpg (12.4-9.8 l/100 km).
Kicking off at $31,550, the Palisade is also competitively priced. It undercuts the entry-level Telluride by $140, Toyota Highlander by $130 and Ford Explorer by a hefty $5,125.
