Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has announced plans to launch a handful of special editions which draw inspiration from vehicles produced between the 1950’s and the 1980’s.
The company was coy on specifics, but the cars will be based on the 911 and represent “particularly emotive concepts with references to history within Porsche’s product strategy.”
That isn’t much to go on, but Porsche is billing them as “lifestyle” vehicles that will follow in the footsteps of the 911 Speedster with the Heritage Design Package. As a result, the upcoming models will have special paintwork and liveries as well as “design elements from the corresponding era.” We can also expect retro-inspired interior materials such as corduroy and tartan as well as Pepita and Pasha patterns.
Porsche said the special editions will be released “at certain intervals and in limited numbers.” The first will be introduced next year and have a Porsche logo that used in the 1960’s. The company is also creating matching timepieces exclusively for owners of Heritage Design vehicles.
Fans who don’t want to pony up the dough for a special edition won’t be entirely out of luck as the company will also offer Heritage Design Packages on the 911. They will have “selected elements” from various decades. That seems to suggest there could be a 1950’s Heritage Design Pack, a 1960’s Heritage Design Pack and so on.

While Porsche didn’t go into too many specifics, the Heritage Design Package on the 911 Speedster adds a GT Silver Metallic exterior with a White front fascia and numbered decals on the doors and hood. The package also includes Porsche logos that were used in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
