Whether it’s a pet, a musical instrument or the ashes of a deceased relative, there is definitely no shortage of weird things people will bring along for a test drive.

Thanks to CarGurus and their latest survey, we now know what a top 10 list of such bizarre things would look like – and a 12 foot (3.6 meter) snake is pretty much what would freak us out the most. The survey was conducted over the past 12 months with the help of thousands of used car dealers in the UK.

These dealers revealed that many people tend to bring pets along, including fish, cats, dogs (a Great Dane in a child’s seat), snakes and even a horse.

“These examples might be at the extremes of what car buyers have brought along on test drives, but they do highlight the importance of making sure a potential purchase is fit for purpose. After all, it’d be a shame to get your new car home only to discover your beloved 12-foot pet snake didn’t fit in the boot,” said CarGurus editor Chris Knapman.

“Even for those with more conventional requirements we’d still encourage taking along items to ensure a car fits your needs, whether it’s child seats, a baby buggy, golf clubs or anything else you plan to carry on a regular basis.”

To recap, the top 10 looks like this: a “lucky” egg, a horse, a rifle, pet snake, accordion, two parrots, a mattress, ashes of deceased relative, slippers and a truncheon.
