Toyota, Mercedes, And BMW Are The Industry’s Most Valuable Brands

A study from Kantar Millward Brown lists Toyota as the most valuable automotive brand, beating out the likes of Mercedes-Benz and BMW.

The BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands 2019 study outlines the worlds largest brands across all industries. You probably won’t be surprised to learn that technology companies dominate the list. For example, Amazon takes out the top position ahead of the likes of Apple, Google, Microsoft, Visa, Facebook, and Alibaba.

Toyota was ranked as the 41st most valuable brand behind the likes of Samsung, Netflix, Chanel, Paypal, and Nike. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz is listed in 54th position just ahead of key rival BMW in 55th. These are the only three car manufacturers in the top 100. Toyota has been listed as the number 1 most valuable car manufacturer in 12 of the past 14 years this particular study has been conducted.

“Global reach is such a big part of Toyota’s position. In each area it’s got a good representative model mix,” Global BrandZ strategy director Graham Staplehurst told Auto News. “Toyota is also seen as pioneer for alternative energy. People are aware of the Prius. We have done a couple of surveys on electric cars, and although Tesla came out on top, Toyota came in second and then VW.”

While only 3 automakers made it into the top 100, the study does have a section dedicated to car manufacturers. In it, Honda, Ford, Nissan, Tesla, Audi, Volkswagen, and Porsche are listed as the best of the rest. Porsche is the only new entrant to this list for 2019, beating out Maruti-Suzuki.

Good for Mercedes Benz! 2nd place in the Automotive industry is not bad! They deserve this!!!! <3

This doesn’t really say much at all tbh. What this study look at is the brand value itself regardless of the product. We all know that BMW is more valuable than Nissan for example, but reliability wise it’s the opposite. Costumers don’t really usually find these studies useful, brokers and stocks trading agencies does though. That would be just me though.

    • McFly

So true. This is about how much money the trademark is worth. It has less to do with the products.

I thought the products make the brand value high or low…what do I know…

One yr before I made the decision to stop my prior work and I am extremely joyful these days…. I started out working via the internet, for business entity I found out over the internet, only a few hour or so on daily basis, and I get paid much more than I actually did on my office workplace job… My pay-check for last thirty day period was $9,000… The best thing on this is the additional free moments I obtained for my children…and that the only requirement for this gig is simple typing and also having access to internet… I am able to devote quality time with my loved ones and buddies and also take good care of my kids as well as going on holiday vacation with them very frequently. Don’t avoid this chance and be sure to act quick. Give it a look, what it’s about… SPORESCARE.INT.PS

Me too tbh. I guess there are many other factors. But what do I know…

    • Merc1

It’s not a reliability study. Nissan builds a lot of cheap junk today.

True. But a reliable junk and you know it!. Btw I love Mercedes and not exactly a BMW fan. And I know it’s not a reliability study, I said that already.

        • Merc1

WHO CARES? This isn’t a reliability study. It’s irrelevant.

True, finally we are on the same page.

I love and hate Toyota at the same time…play it too safe, but I know its the right thing to do. The fact that they play it safe is the reason they are who they are in the market. I just wish every now and then, they get inspired by Porsche and build what the fans want. Doesn’t even need to be full production, just limited.
