Enjoy The Improved 2020 Audi S4 In All Of Its Cinematic Glory

The facelifted 2020 A4 launched in May and included not one, but two S4 versions. The video below shows off the car’s overhauled exterior in all its glory and may encourage you to rush out to your nearest Audi dealership to see one in person.

Filmed high up in the mountains of Italy, the clip provides a detailed look at both the interior and exterior of the new car. It also allows us to hear the vehicle in mild-hybrid diesel guise and showcases the trick head- and taillights as well as the larger MMI infotainment system, which has a 10.1-inch touch display with acoustic feedback.

Depending on the market, you can get either a petrol or a diesel new S4 and S4 Avant. The former sports a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine delivering 349 HP and 368 lb-ft of torque between 1370 and 4500 rpm and can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.7 seconds before maxing out at 155 mph (250 km/h).

The diesel S4, on the other hand, utilizes a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that churns out 342 HP and 516 lb-ft of torque, giving it a significant torque edge over the petrol model. It also incorporates an electrically powered compressor within the 48-volt main electric system to eliminate turbo lag. It will accelerate to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds and has the same, electronically limited top speed of 155 mph that’s customary in most German performance cars (Porsche excluded).

    “New” design = *Yawwwwwwwwwn*

  • Some ol’ bloke

    I really like this..

  • Ben

Those supercharged B8.5 models were something else. With a little tune from APR they become a German Hellcat. Turbos a nice, supercharger whine is just better in my opinion.

Every single newly released audi looks worse and worse….. that front is a mess.

  • nastinupe

Looks better than the previous model, but still not great. I miss those 2012 S4’s. Those things were pretty.

  • TheBelltower

The greenhouse and doors look like they could be from 1997. The rear was pulled directly from the new Jetta. The front could be a truck. Though I do like the dancing LEDs, the entire thing is a bit disjointed.

  • Daniela Wolf

Would take the diesel of petrol any day.

  • SteersUright

Damn, the S4 is looking aged and tired. Give it the total update it deserves!

    • KidRed

      It’s a facelift, mid-cycle, not a new design.

      • Andrewthecarguy

Exactly, and it is a brilliantly done refresh at that. Goes up well against the new 3 and upcoming C.

  • Enter Ranting

What’s with the aftermarket Pep Boys-sourced lights-a-rama package? Audi design is dead and buried.

  • Danny Boy

I miss the obvious difference between the S models entry level models, mainly the flared fenders and wider stance! This looks more luxe than sport. Lookat the rims……very blah! And Audi use to be the leader in rim application. Still a beautifully boring looking car tho! Ha
