You can thank McLaren Denver for these very special 600LT Spider models, commissioned by the Colorado retailer through MSO (McLaren Special Operations).

There are six cars in total in the Pikes Peak Collection, all featuring unique MSO Bespoke or MSO Heritage paintwork, to go with a gold and matte black vinyl stripe over the hood and roof, as well as Satin Speedline Gold wheels. The exteriors were painted Black Gold, White Gold, Nerello Red, Volcano Red, Aurora Blue and Midas Grey.

“It’s really special for us to be able to offer a car like the 600LT Spider, which is already quite special itself with its Longtail heritage, and tie it into Pikes Peak, a race that is so significant to Colorado residents, as well as the racing community globally,” said McLaren Denver owner, Mike Ward. “Six very lucky customers will be proud owners of these amazing McLaren 600LT Spiders, and we can’t wait to see them on the road and on the track in Colorado.

Each car boasts a Satin Gold center band on its steering wheel, as well as Satin Gold extended paddle shifters and gold contrast stitching. Meanwhile, the headrest pad features the Pikes Peak logo in gold embroidery, while a dedication plaque reads ‘Pikes Peak Collection 1 of 6’.

Also available is the MSO Club Sport Pack, which adds carbon fiber cantrails, carbon fiber front fender louvers and titanium wheel bolts, to go with the Super-Lightweight Carbon Fiber Racing seats from the McLaren Senna.

“In addition to offering personalization, MSO offers customers and retailers the unique opportunity to be heavily involved in limited production commissions. We are thrilled that McLaren Denver has created a special, market specific commission based on the 600LT Spider. These types of commission projects are becoming an important part of our business and it highlights the continued engagement of the dealer network and customers,” said McLaren North America boss, Tony Joseph.

As for what it can offer you in terms of performance, the 600LT Spider is equipped with the same 3.8-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine as the Coupe, producing 592 HP (600 PS) and 457 lb-ft (620 Nm) of torque. This means you’ll be hitting 60 mph (96 km/h) from a standstill in just 2.8 seconds.
