Eight years ago, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles announced plans to launch an all-new Jeep Grand Wagoneer in 2014.

That obviously never happened and it was later revealed the luxury SUV would return in 2018. Last year came without any sign of the Grand Wagoneer, but the company did promise it would finally return by the end of 2022.

While reports have indicated the third time could be the charm, there’s an alternative for fans that can’t wait any longer. We’re of course talking about buying an original Grand Wagoneer instead.

Case in point, there’s this 1991 Grand Wagoneer Final Edition up for auction on Bring A Trailer. Reportedly one of just 1,560 Final Editions, the GW is equipped with AMC’s familiar 5.9-liter V8 engine which is paired to a three-speed automatic transmission.

Despite having nearly 170,000 miles (273,588) on the odometer, the SUV looks to be in pretty good shape. However, that’s partially due to a previous owner who repainted the model its original Hunter Green color.

The Grand Wagoneer has been taken well care of as a number of components have been replaced. These include the carburetor, fuel pump, radiator, shocks and leaf springs. Other relatively new additions include seals and gaskets as well as brake lines and cooling hoses.

The interior is in decent shape as the biggest demerits are cracking leather seats and a steering wheel which has seen pretty of wear and tear over the years. While the Grand Wagoneer isn’t exactly high-tech, the model features air conditioning, power windows and a working cassette player. The seller also installed heated seating pads to give the SUV a little bit of modern luxury.

The auction ends on July 9th and you can see more pictures of the Grand Wagoneer here.
