2020 Toyota Avalon TRD Pricing Is Out And It Isn’t A Bad Deal

Pricing details for the sportier looking and tuned 2020 Toyota Avalon TRD have been announced with confirmation that the big sedan will start at $42,300 excluding a destination charge of $955.

Cars Direct claims to have uncovered pricing information for the beefed-up Avalon through official order guides. A $43,255 total price makes the Avalon TRD $200 less expensive than the Avalon Touring and $200 more expensive than the Avalon Limited.

Unveiled alongside the Camry TRD last year, the Toyota Avalon TRD features eye-catching bodywork that includes a gargantuan black front grille, distinctive side skirts, tinted taillights, a rear diffuser, twin tailpipes, and a trunklid lip spoiler. The car also sits on a set of custom 19-inch matte black wheels which each weigh 4.5 lbs (2 kg) less than the wheel of an Avalon XSE.

Toyota also worked on a number of mechanical modifications for the punchy front-wheel drive sedan. For example, there are larger 12.9-inch front brake discs with twin-piston calipers as well as a new suspension package with bespoke shock absorbers and lowered springs. Powering the Avalon TRD, and the Camry TRD, is a 3.5-liter V6 engine pumping out 301 hp. This engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission complete with a sport mode and paddle shifters.

Interior alterations made to the cabin of the Avalon TRD aren’t as significant as those found across the exterior but do include Sport SofTex front seats with red accents and embroidered headrests. Also found within are TRD-branded floor mats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with red contrast stitching, and red seatbelts.

Nice Camry interior. That is what I expected.

  • WalthamDan

For $43k large, I would think that I would be entitled to a bit more black plastic on the front clip. Just saying.

    • ADD A LITTLE SOMETHING TO THE HOOD, IT’S TOO BLAND.

Someone slap the designer for that front end please.

You guys made my day. Laughing out loud.

      Second that

    • CarCzarDesigner

It’s not always the Designer. Its Senior Management describing what they want and ordering the Designer to do as they say.

      • Jason Panamera

Indeed. It is management who accepts final product. When audi was creating 2nd gen Audi Q7, management wasn’t pleased with it’s look so they decided to redesign it when it was already being tested on the roads.

Toyota really needs to tone it down with the all grill noses.
You see this then is the Toyota Century and wonder if it is the same car company.
And 301HP might be time for a AWD option.

Now bring over the Crown so we can put the final nail in American Luxury cars coffin.

  • THE PEOPLE WHO DESIGNED AND OKAYED THE FRONT END OF THIS CAR SHOULD BE BANNED FROM THE INDUSTRY.

    • Jay_Sam

You are “more right” than “the rightest” person in the world right now. The entire design dept of Toyota should be fired.

      • Mike Gonzalez

talk about the American Toyotas … in Europe they look mostly fine

        • Jay_Sam

I’m sorry but I haven’t seen any fine looking toyota in the past 10 (maybe more) years.

GT86, new Supra, new Corolla, CH-R, heck even the next Yaris is shaping up to be a looker as well

          • Jay_Sam

GT86 – no Supra – no Corolla – big no C-HR – ugliest thing in this list

          • Mike Gonzalez

so tell me some design references for you, a VW Polo?

          • Jay_Sam

VW Polo is not my favorite but it certainly looks better than any toyota. My favorite designs are (only from Toyota competitors not any model like Laferrari or 250GTO or E-type): Jag XE or XF, Peugeot 508 Volvo S90 and etc.

          • Mike Gonzalez

boy bye… Jaguar XE is so generic it turns 0 heads when passing by

          • Jay_Sam

Get away boy. Or better just hide away. It is your opinion and I don’t give a brass fart about that.

Maybe I can get a good deal on one when my Taurus needs replacing.
